San
Jose, Calif., September 21, 2000 -- Fujitsu
Software Corporation’s products will figure prominently in a global alliance
between its parent company, Fujitsu Limited, and Microsoft. Under the
terms of the alliance, which was announced in Tokyo today, the companies
will collaborate on global promotion and development of Microsoft’s .Net
Enterprise Server products and Fujitsu’s COBOL development tools, INTERSTAGE
application server products and SystemWalker systems and network management
solutions.
This agreement between
Fujitsu Ltd. and Microsoft expands the scope of Fujitsu’s support of the
.Net framework by strengthening product level technical cooperation for
the three Fujitsu products and Microsoft’s .Net Enterprise Server products.
“Now, in addition
to giving organizations that use COBOL access to a wide variety of new
technologies through the .Net framework, Fujitsu Software will be able
to offer its customers an even broader range of cutting edge .Net business
and Internet solutions,” said Ron Langer, Director COBOL Sales and Marketing,
for Fujitsu Software Corporation.
