Tutorials
for Fujitsu COBOL
These
tutorials provide step by step instructions on how to use Fujitsu
COBOL V3. It is recommend that any new users to Fujitsu COBOL V3
follow these tutorials as an introduction to Fujitsu COBOL. Each
of the exercises corresponds to sections in the book. The book is
not required to use these exercises.
Using
Fujitsu COBOL V3 Starter Set with COBOL:
From Micro to Mainframe.
Discussion:
If you have chosen to use Fujitsu COBOL V3 Starter Set, this set
of exercises should help you to install the product, download the
data files to use with the book, and use the basic tools. Fujitsu
COBOL V3 Starter Set is a powerful set of COBOL tools and should
enable you to do everything included in the book.
The
exercises are as follows:
- Installing
Fujitsu COBOL V3 Starter Set
- Download
Data Files from World Wide Web
- Compile,
Link, and Execute a COBOL Program
- P-Staff
- The Fujitsu Editor and Correcting Errors
- Debugging
Program using WINSVD
- Using
Environmental Variables to Specify Files
- Fujitsu
COBOL File Utility
You may want
to follow through the exercises in the order specified. However,
exercises 6 and 7 could be done at any time after exercise 3 is
completed. You should also be aware that the programs were originally
developed using other compilers. We have attempted to assure that
they also run with Fujitsu COBOL V3 Starter Set, but there may still
be some problems. The programs in chapters 10 and 16, use the COBOL
SCREEN SECTION. There are no tightly defined standards for these
types of programs. Therefore, we have modified those programs for
Fujitsu COBOL V3 Starter Set and are including the modified programs
in separate data disk folders.
